Was wandering through the Edirnekapı Mezarlığı for a little while this afternoon with friends when a flash of color caught my eye. Parts of the sprawling cemetery complex are well-taken care of, but there are parts that feel slightly unkempt, dusty. And in the still-fresh green of spring, it's a world that overgrows its bounds. Hence poppies sprouting from cracks in the cement, unfurled orange against a field of grey and green.
