History in a Global World
Just a stray thought as I skim through a quick post to L.A. Observed: By the time I wake up tomorrow, some kind of history will have happened in Cairo. I'm clicking refresh on the New York Times, but it's just past 5 a.m. in Cairo. The dawn prayer probably just over the horizon, even as we edge towards sleep in Los Angeles.
Just funny how history happens: An ocean apart and yet (seemingly) at my fingers. When I wake, it (something) will have happened. A world lived in the future perfect, I s'pose.
