A Skyline Picked Out in Light

Bosphorus :: 16 November 2012
There's an idea I've been meaning to flesh out -- it's barely even a skeleton at this moment, more like a cluster of shards I'm left trying to imagine together -- about Istanbul and its lights. Mostly to do with the way that the city has grown into its lights, has become almost thick with them. A silhouette once only pricked with shuttered lamps now almost blushes in the darkness.

This? This is luck, catching the ferry home at dark, moving in towards the shore in Üsküdar and staring out behind me -- the silence of staring backwards -- out towards a skyline picked out in light.
