Üsküdar and Moon

Üsküdar, late February 2013
It is said that Üsküdar was once known as Chrysopolis, the city of gold. In the nights of late February, we see the moon again for the first time in weeks and its reflection on the water is like an old friend stretching out to meet us, enough to imagine that the world, too, wants to draw another bridge across the dark currents of the Bosphorus. In the damp air, the lights of the city hang low, draped almost like a thin scarf against the cold.
