The Grain of the Ink

One of the things I love most about working in the archives is the feel of documents -- I spent yesterday afternoon taking photographs of several so that I can continue working with them. While I was photographing this one -- the authorization for a repair order for a road near Eyüp in the beginning of the 20th century -- I accidentally caught my hands under the lens of the camera. The two different scripts, one from the Şehremanet, the other I think from the Sadrazam, each had their own respective weights.

What, the grain of the ink.
