Fake Etymologies

Turkish has no word for brown. That's not exactly true, but there's no word in Turkish that corresponds to some essence or idea of brown. The Turkish word is kahverengi. Literally, it means the color of coffee (after kahve [coffee]+renk [color]+i [genetive suffix designating posession]). Something rather resonant in that.

I may, of course, be completely off base, but easy enough to imagine a bad phrase of poetry:

Asked to describe her eyes,
he could only sigh:
Like coffee grounds, tipped over
on their saucer to dry.
